A New Ensemble
June 28th & July 1st 2017
Advanced students and teachers of the Magnificat conducted by Michael Klinghoffer
The Magnificat Institute is proud to present a new ensemble made up of advanced students and teachers. The conductor of this new formation, “The Magnificat Ensemble,” is Prof. Michael Klinghoffer of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.
A double-bass performer, Prof. Klinghoffer studied under Gary Karr at Yale University and at the Hartt School-University of Hartford, where he received his Doctor of Musical Arts. Currently, he serves as the Dean of Performing Arts and is the Music Director of the Jerusalem Conservatory Chamber Orchestra.
The “Magnificat Ensemble” will inaugurate its course with two special concerts: the first, on June 28, at the Austrian Hospice of Jerusalem while the second, on July 1, is scheduled to take place at St. Peter’s Church in Jaffa.
The repertoire includes music by Mozart and Corelli.
We look forward to seeing you there!
