The Examiner is Prometed - The Italian Violinist Stefano Antonello in concerto at the Magnificat
In the scholastic year 2013-14, the level exams at the Magnificat Institute took place during the last week of June. That is why M° Enrico Pisa, the director of the Conservatory of Vicenza, sent to Jerusalem the Maestros Stefano Antonello, Roberto Solci e Angelino Rampazzo. The three examined 18 students of piano, violin and guitar, both theory and practice.
A beautiful thing to remember is that M° Stefano Antonello expressed his desire to give a concert. So, once the exams were over, he played for his colleagues of Jerusalem, the students and the general public. It was a joyous musical encounter in which students and professors of the Magnificat shared the stage with the famous violinist from Vicenza.
Maysam Al Sous and the Prof. Bella Canetti performed on the violin and the viola the Two-part Invention no.13 by Bach; the Prof. Tania Beltser, accompanied on the piano by M° Jiries Boullata, played Paganini’s Cantabile; while the two Professors Robert and Bella Canetti presented to a delighted audience the acrobatic Variations on the Carnival, again by Paganini.
Finally, the moment came for the Lectio Magistralis by Maestro Stefano Antonello. Accompanied at the piano by Maestro Jiries Boullata, the professor of violin at the Conservatory of Vicenza performed Mozart's Variations, the Improvviso by Rota, the Spanish Dances by De Sarasate and Wieniawski's Fantasy on Faust.
The concert ended with the execution of the piece Virgin Mother composed by Maestro Roberto Solci, one of the examiners. This last piece saw the participation, together of Maestros Stefano Antonello, Jiries Boullata and Robert Canetti. An endless applause marked the end of this musical event. The audience sure got a taste of M° Antonello’s interpretative flair and exemplary technique.
